Function: timestampDiff()

function timestampDiff(timestamp1, timestamp2): number;

Defined in: src/timestamps.ts:205

Calculate the difference between two timestamps in milliseconds.

Parameters

timestamp1

number

First timestamp

timestamp2

number

Second timestamp

Returns

number

Absolute difference in milliseconds

Remarks

Returns the absolute difference, so order doesn't matter. Useful for calculating durations, age, time since events, etc.

Example

  const ageMs = timestampDiff(nowTimestamp(), user.createdAt);
  const ageDays = Math.floor(ageMs / (1000 * 60 * 60 * 24));
